This is Mikey, a Tennessee Walking Horse gelding. (Registered name Mike's Show Man.) I think he was very small for a TWH, standing at only about 14.2 hands or so tall. He belonged to Sandy's father, who passed away I think in 2001. I had a few lessons on Mikey, and I'm really not cut out to ride those fancy gaited horses -- he was just too much horse for me past his working walk (his version of a trot), just too strong for me. But what a comfortable working walk he had!! Poor Mikey came down with some type of hoof ailment later on, that prevented anyone from being able to ride him anymore -- so he's lived out the remainder of his life just being a horse. He was a sweetie!
