This is Princess. She was really my sister's dog, but since she was alive when I was very young, I thought I'd include her. We have only 2 photos of her, and this is the better of the two. Yes, that's yours truly sitting on her back! I don't remember her much since she died when I was very young (although sadly have a vivid memory of the day she took sick), but obviously she was VERY good with children to allow me to sit on her like that! This is King, our German Shepherd. He was our family watchdog. We had prowlers around our house one night when I was very young & my sister (probably around 13 years old) was home alone baby-sitting me. (We think it was some neighborhood kids trying to get the apples we had stored on the porch.) My dad decided it would be a good idea to have a watchdog, and picked up King at the local dog pound. Back then it was called a dog pound, and they had only dogs. He was a puppy when we got him. We have only a couple photos of him, and this is the better of the two. It was New Year's Day, and my parents had been to a New Year's party the night before -- I thought he'd look cute wearing the hat! He was a very good dog. We had him for 7 years. He started to get very sick, having episodes where he wouldn't be able to stand up and would have "accidents" on the floor. I always called him my puppy dog because of his floppy ears! I'm very partial to German Shepherds because of him, and still miss him very much. I always felt safe with him around. This is Fifi, and she was mine. My mom insists she was a Poodle. (I honestly don't think she was the right size or build, but I could be wrong.) I don't remember how long we had her, but it was many years. I was in high school (sophomore year I think) when she left us. She was a great dog, very loveable & friendly. We don't have many photos of her, and two were taken from a distance when I was outside playing with her in the snow. The first photo is of her as a puppy. The next photo is the second best we have. (Why not post the best one? It's actually on one of the cat pages! This is the best one of Fifi alone.) It was taken at my brother-in-law's birthday party -- I thought she'd look cute wearing a party hat! (My sister was holding her head facing the camera because she wouldn't look over at me!) The third photo is of her wanting to play with my gerbil, Yoda. (Yes, I'm a fan of the "Star Wars" movies!) This was the only photo I got of Yoda & was a cute photo of Fifi, so I thought I'd include it.
